Magazine Advert Audience Feedback - Survey

This is the outcome of an interview and questionnaire which I conducted to gain feedback on my magazine advert. The results were that on the whole, people thought my magazine advert gave a strong representation of a tyipical music video within the selected genre. Overall feedback gave it a rating of 4 out of 5 which I was pleased with. Regarding the interview, the general response was positive. However the interviewees did identify some areas of weakness which I reflected on and felt was a fair reflection of the product. I altered the surround with a fast blur effect to place greater emphasis on the lead singer.

Digipak Audience Feedback - Survey

Above are the results of an interview and questionnaire which I circulated in order to gain feedback on my final Digipak product. The results were that on the whole, people thought my Digipak was a good standard in terms of its appearance and content and they gave it a rating of 3 out of 5. Regarding the interview, responses were constructive and the interviewees identified some areas of weakness which I have taken on board. I revisited the front cover and evaluated the impact of my image. I altered it from a natural environment shot to a cartoon illustrated image of a single bird to convey a sense of isolation. This like closely to the lyrics of the song as can be recognised in my music video.

Final Product Audience Feedback - Survey

This is the outcome of an interview and questionnaire which I circulated in order to gain feedback on my final media product. The results were that on the whole, people thought my music video was very professional in its look and they gave it a rating of 5 out of 5. Regarding the interview, the general response was positive. However, the interviewees did identify some areas of weakness which I had not seen. For example a comment was made about the effects of a variety of angles. I then reshot the scene and carried out further editing to include more variety.

2nd Draft

This is the second draft for my production. I previusly received feedback from my peers as to how my production could have been improved. Acting on feedback I have attempted to reduce the shot length, add a greater variety of shots and include additional footage for the final scene. I will look to source additional feedback and act upon it.

Magazine advert (1st Draft)

This is my first draft for a magazine advert for my final product. Overall, I feel this is a good first draft. However, there are multiple factors I would like to change and add before reaching the final product. Some of the strong features include the red tone given to the image and how this links with the lyrics of the song I have chosen to use for my music video. By contrast, some areas I would like to improve are the font colour and style. I feel it looks weak and does not stand out the way I intended it would. Another point is that the social media icons look amateurish and need to be tidied up around the edges. I will look to improve these areas before submitting my final edit. I reflected at this stage on the title of my band. It is not good practice to keep the original name of the band. I decided upon 'Time will Tell' to replace U2. The thinking here is that U2 as a band have been around for five decades. They have truly stood the test of time - formed in 1976 and still around in 2016. Hence I came up with the original name 'Time will Tell' - it certainly has with U2. I am also going to name the album 'Slow Plan'. This is to reflect the softer indie sound of 'With or without You' which was not characteristic of one of the world's biggest rock bands of all time.

Digipak (1st Draft)

This is my first draft for my Digipak. I feel that some areas work well with the style I was trying to create and I also feel it appears convincingly naturalistic to the viewer. Examples of what I mean are the size and placement of aspects such as the barcode, logos and copyright details. However, on the other hand there are improvements I would like to make before my final edit. These changes include a new, more bold font and more imagery used throughout the package. I will look further at the front cover and think about my enhance the image further.
